A SYDENHAM funeral director has been raising money for the Royal British Legion by encouraging people to plant a poppy.
The donation from Francis Chappell & Sons allowed people to plant a poppy with the name of the person they wished to remember in their field of remembrance.
Funeral director Emma Sparre-Slater said: “We have always supported the Royal British Legion with window displays and collections. But we felt this was a way to actively acknowledge the debt of gratitude we hold to those who lost their lives in the defence of the country.”
A 19-year-old man has been charged with the murder of teenager Ryan Bravo who was killed in a convenience store shooting, Scotland Yard said.
