United pegged back

Hayes and Yeading United had to settle for a 2-2 draw at home to Bishop's Stortford yesterday after twice leading.

Nev Saroya's penalty opened the scoring after just seven minutes but Ahmed Deen netted before the break.

The hosts regained the lead almost immediately on 42 minutes when Saroya's free-kick was headed in by Steve Perkins.

But the Blue Square South hosts were denied the win when Sam Higgins' shot was deflected off Greg Pearson and into the net.
