THE Five Arrows at Waddesdon has been awarded 2 AA Rosettes for its cuisine that demonstrates precision and the use of quality ingredients.

The restaurant at the gates to Waddesdon Manor was built in 1887 and takes its name from the Rothschild family emblem, a shield surmounted by five arrows. Dining at the 4 star AA restaurant with rooms is inspired by the European roots of the Rothschild dynasty.

The seasonal menus use fresh, local ingredients to produce modern European dishes such as: Ballotine of chicken & black pudding, honey poached cranberries, cauliflower purée, celery & lemon oil (£7.50); Pan fried fillet of sea trout, warm potato, watercress, spring onion & pea shoot salad, Wye Valley asparagus, marinated tomatoes & rocket pesto (£14.95); and Roast breast of Aylesbury duck, purple sprouting broccoli, fennel, butter beans & baby spinach (£18.50).

The restaurant also boasts an impressive wine cellar, with 70 percent of wines coming from the Rothschild vineyards around the world.

The wine theme is carried into the restaurant’s elegant decor with oversized corks, magnum bottles and framed wine labels adorning the walls. For more details go to www.thefivearrows.co.uk
