WENDOVER Theatre Society certainly offered great evening of entertainment with two very funny plays and three monologues.

Love or Nearest Offer.

Directed by David Payne the play was set in a dating agency with an efficient owner whose partner had recently died and who had been match making for many years. We are introduced to a rather glamorous young woman looking for love who is matched up with a diffident young man. Add to the mix a brash Australian former car dealer who had been left half the business and used his car selling techniques to endeavour to run the Agency with hilarious results. The script was very funny and had a strong cast.

There were three Monologues which ended the first half.

Wednesdays Another very funny play with a clever script directed by Carol Blake. The storyline entails a mother and daughter who unknown to each other were spending their Wednesdays being entertained by the same gigolo. When they all meet one Wednesday it brings hilarious results. The confusion which comes to light adds to the general amusement. Again a strong cast who used the script to its best advantage and the laughs came thick and fast.

Wendover Theatre Society has considerable talent especially for comedy and it will be a great pity if this was their last production.
