CHESHAM Theatre Company chose a funny and rather risqué play for their summer performance.

It was a supper theatre with tables set out and everyone bringing their own food and drink making for a very friendly atmosphere.

The play centres round three OAP cleaners who have a very nasty boss. Learning they are to be sacked to make way for younger more nubile ladies and needing to supplement their pensions they decide to run telephone sex lines at the weekend with hilarious results.

The transformation of the women who chose names such as Madonna, Kylie and Marilyn, has amazing results.

They start off being rather amateur and easily shocked but as the play progresses they become very good at the task they have undertaken and as well as making money it transforms their rather dull lives.

Director Gavin Webb is to be commended for making this performance such a success as the programme had to be changed at rather short notice and the cast had only a short while to learn their lines in time for the opening night.

The script was rather racy with a considerable amount of adult content but the audience laughed uproariously and obviously enjoyed rather explicit references.

Chesham Theatre Company have once again offered an interesting and enjoyable evening’s entertainment.
