A SPECIAL service will be held tomorrow at a church which stands in a village threatened with demolition.
St Mary the Virgin church in Harmondsworth village, was built in 1067 and is a listed building.
If plans for a third runway go ahead, the church will stand as it is, while around 700 homes in surrounding Sipson village would be demolished.
BAA's proposed runway will be built beside the church in High Street, where worshippers will hear the sound of planes taking off every 90 seconds.
The special service is being held to highlight these plans.
The Archdeacon of Northolt will preach at the service tomorrow (Sunday) at 6pm and members of a choir from Trinity College in Cambridge will sing.
Campaigners opposing the plans to expand Heathrow are holding a rally on Saturday, May 31.
They will march from Hatton Cross tube station into Sipson to show the mass opposition the plans.
