In the past fifteen months over £10,000 has been raised by our school community to provide resources, uniforms, furniture and a teacher's salary. We also sponsor 6 children who have been rescued from the streets of Nairobi and placed in residential primary education.

British Airways provide us with flights and accommodation so we are able to make sure all the money we raise is only spent on agreed objectives.

To date, seven members of staff have visited the schools in Mukuru; three of these spent a week teaching there. What an amazing experience!

Pupils at our school have come to understand the appalling conditions of African slum life and the generosity and commitment to helping shown by them and their parents has been remarkable.

Before half term we had a 'non-uniform day' which was enthusiastically supported by the pupils - this raised yet another sum of money. The latest idea is collecting baby and toddler clothes to send over to the mother and baby unit at St Catherine's School in Mukuru. Other Hillingdon schools have been helping us with this project and we are extremely grateful. We hope to sending a consignment along shortly.
