A HILLINGDON pensioner, 75, died in a fire at a bungalow in West Drayton Road on Thursday night.
Fire crews were called to the house just after 6.30pm and, wearing breathing apparatus, brought out the man from a bedroom.
A London Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Extensive efforts were made to resuscitate him, but sadly he died at the scene.”
Police have identified him but are waiting to inform next of kin.
A neighbour, who did not wish to be named, said: “The man kept himself to himself and lived in the house on his own.”
She said two men passing on a moped noticed smoke coming out of the bungalow and alerted people next door.
