NATIONAL Adoption Week (November 5-11) has prompted Hillingdon Council to encourage people to think about giving a child a new loving home.
It is inviting people to find out more about adoption at an information evening at the Civic Centre from 6.30-9pm on November 29.
There are children in the borough unable to live with their birth families and looking for a caring home.
Anyone interested in adoption is encouraged by the council to get in touch, regardless of race, gender, nationality, sexual orientation, marital status, religion or disability.
The adoption team is particularly looking for people who are able to offer a home to teenagers, siblings and children from ethnic minority backgrounds or with disabilities.
The team works closely with families to help them through the process before and after adoption.
