Saracens boss Mark McCall said he has never seen a prop like Mako Vunipola and believes the 22-year-old can cope with the demands of playing for the Lions.

Vunipola was included in the tour party to Australia which was announced today, along with Sarries teammates Owen Farrell and Matt Stevens.

"Mako is very, very special everybody knows he's special," McCall said.

"His scrummaging has improved hugely in the last 12 months, that was important, but around the park is where he comes into his own.

"As a ball carrier, as a decision maker, as a defender, as somebody who gets over the ball I haven't seen a loosehead prop like him before.

"He's done well for England - scrummaging is going to be an area he improves on, he's a very young loosehead but he can go to Australia and do a good job for the Lions.

"They've got some choices there but Mako gives them something a little bit different.

"If you want a sub to come off the bench and open things up a little bit then for me Mako would be your man."
