HILLINGDON will represent London in the Britain in Bloom Competition 2014 for the third consecutive year.
Following the borough’s success at the London in Bloom Awards 2013, Hillingdon was put forward to represent the capital in the Large City category.
The competition is organised by the Royal Horticultural Society, which encourages communities to transform local environments. This year will be the 50th anniversary of the awards.
During the summer, two judges will tour local projects alongside officers from Hillingdon Council’s Green Spaces team.
The borough will be judged on three areas, including its horticultural achievement, community participation and environmental responsibility.
Results will be announced in October at an awards ceremony in Bristol.
