THE lead-up to Easter sees sports sessions, a talk on World War One and countryside walks.

Saturday, April 12
Children between the ages of 11 and 15 can get active with junior handball training. Part of Ruislip Eagles Handball club, each 90-minute session costs £2.50, with participants considered for selection for male and female teams in the upcoming London Youth Games. Tuesday, April 15
The Compass Theatre plays host every Tuesday to Tappy Toes classes, where songs, dancing and props combine. Suitable for both boys and girls aged 20 months to 4.5 years, the dance class seeks to help children and parents bond, while enhancing imagination and co-ordination. Classes are £4.50. Tuesday, April 15
Those with an interest in the First World War can pop along to Ickenham Library to listen to a talk about the war in the air by Derek McCall. Starting at 10am, the session will run until 11.30 and will include coffee. Booking is required on 01895 558271.
Thursday, April 17
Youngsters can put their natural instincts to the test at Colne Valley Park visitor centre with a scavenger boat racing afternoon. Children search around the woods to find materials, which will then be used to build a boat. The activity begins at 11am and is £2 per child. Saturday, April 19
Fancy a stroll around the borough’s countryside? Every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, Hillingdon Ramblers meet for a three-mile walk or 12-mile hike around some of the area’s most scenic routes.
