A RUISLIP care home has won an award for being rated one of the top 20 in London.

Brackenbridge House came 12th out of 1,694 homes in the capital and received an award from industry website carehome.co.uk.

The 36-bed home on Bracken Hill won the award, based on online recommendations from residents, and their friend and relatives.

As well as having one and a half acres of land and its own hair salon, Brackenbridge House allows residents’ families and staff to bring their pets for visits.

Director of carehome.co.uk Davina Ludlow said: “Brackenbridge House has proved it provides a great service and we’d like to congratulate them on being a top recommended home in London!

“It’s a brilliant achievement to be recognised for your hard work but particularly from the people who you work hard for.”

Gillian Browne, manager of Brackenbridge House, was thrilled with the result.

“This award means a great deal as it shows my residents are happy and contented in their home,” she said.

Brackenbridge House has an open-door policy to create a ‘home from home’ feel.

“This, I think, sets us apart from other care homes,” said the manager.

The home will be holding an afternoon tea party to celebrate.
