PAINTING, poetry and photography are just some of the activities on offer during the borough’s annual arts festival, Hillingdon Artsweek 2014.

The festival, organised by Hillingdon Council, runs during the half-term holidays from May 24 to June 1. Featuring 42 events, there is something for everyone to enjoy with a selection of music, dance, art, theatre and craft workshops taking place across the borough. Many of the events are free of charge.

More than 4,000 residents took part in Artsweek 2013, building 3D art installations in shopping centres, making pots and attending concerts and shows.

Jean Palmer, deputy chief executive, said: “This promises to be an unforgettable week showcasing a wide range of the borough’s creative talent.”

The full programme is available online. Brochures are also available in the borough’s libraries and other community centres.

Bringing a brochure or print-out along will get you a discount for some activities.
