PEOPLE in Hillingdon are being encouraged to try something new with a free taster session.

The borough’s Adult and Community Learning team is offering a variety of free taster sessions, ranging from cake decorating to childminding and IT skills.

Whether you are interested in creating vintage table designs, brushing up on your language skills or getting to grips with social media there is something for everyone during the week's activity programme.

From June 14-20, the free taster sessions will be on offer across the borough. One-day courses include floristry, art, textiles, IT, photography, languages, performing arts and computing.

This year, parents will also have the opportunity to find out more about the family learning programme by taking part in creative projects including welly boot planting and story telling.

People with learning difficulties or a disability are also invited to extend their culinary skills at a specialist cookery course.

Work by learners who attend the taster sessions will be on display at Uxbridge Library from June 13-27.
