YOUNG people’s golf skills were brought to the fore at a primary school tri-golf tournament hosted at Ruislip Golf Course.

Children from years five and six at Field End, Bourne, St Helen’s College, Glebe and Frithwood primary schools competed at Ruislip Golf Course’s driving range, taking part in eight challenges designed to test their abilities and inspire enthusiasm for golf.

The tournament was organised by Shenaz Mahomed, school games organiser at Harlington School, with help from Hillingdon Council’s sports development team.

Tri-golf is a version of the game aimed at primary schools, using large plastic golf clubs and balls made out of foam.

Teams of 10 children from each school participated in activities such as bullseye, where players must chip the ball as close to the centre of a target as possible.
