TAKING part in the European Youth Event made a big impression on two of Hillingdon Council’s youth council members.
Serife Gunal, 18, from West Drayton, currently a member of the UK Youth Parliament, and Mufaro Multaurwa, 18, from Hayes, represented London at the event in Strasbourg.
They debated youth issues with young people from across Europe, visited the European Parliament building and attended workshops.
Mufaro said: “Visiting the European Parliament was an honour. We were embraced by everyone there, and meeting MEPs was a proud moment for me."
Serife said: “Before I went to Strasbourg, I was swaying towards thinking that the UK should opt out of Europe, maybe because of the media’s influence.
"After this weekend I am completely pro-Europe and, if I go into a career in politics, I would like to improve people’s knowledge of the benefits of being part of it.”
