A ‘MAN trap’, used in the 19th century to catch trespassers, is one of the many fascinating objects displayed at the Pram Shed, a mini-museum on the Manor Farm site, Ruislip, which is packed with historical farming tools.
Hillingdon Council, which manages site, is now asking people to volunteer to help the Pram Shed stay open for longer, particularly at weekends and bank holidays, after investing £15,000 to weatherproof the building.
The distinctive name of the building dates back to when Manor Farm House was used as a clinic for new mothers.
Jean Palmer, the borough’s deputy chief executive, said: “It would be wonderful if we could give even more residents the opportunity to visit the Pram Shed and enjoy learning about our borough’s farming history.
“If you have time to spare and are interested in becoming one of the many valued volunteers at Manor Farm, please do get in touch.”
