WERE you a pupil at St Nicholas or St Mary's Grammar School in Northwood Hills 40 years ago?

To celebrate the landmark occasion, a reunion is being staged for students who began secondary school education at the Wiltshire Lane school in September 1974.

The class of '74 was one of the last intake of pupils under the old 11-plus exam system for grammar schools.

St Nicholas and St Mary's were grammar schools from 1955 until 1977, when they merged into a comprehensive as the newly-named Haydon School.

Now a reunion is being held on Saturday, October 18 at the Breakspear Arms in Breakspear Road South, Uxbridge, at 8pm "We've already had plenty of interest from former pupils who are spread far and wide about the UK and abroad," said former pupil Dave King.

"It's amazing how the power of social media has helped us to track down old classmates. However, we'd love to hear from anyone we've lost touch with."
