A PROJECT to transform the borough’s shop fronts is coming to Harefield following its success in other parts of Hillingdon.

This two-year project will offer businesses the chance to improve the appearance and quality of their shops.

Applications can be made for any improvements to the shop front, small or large. This can include new front windows, re-rendering or repainting and replacement of signs.

Good People, specialists in high street regeneration, will help to manage the project. They will work with shops to produce designs and work out quotes. Council officers will also offer support on planning requirements.

Harefield is a conservation are,a so extra help will be provided at the design stage to ensure plans are in keeping with the character of the area.

Cllr Douglas Mills, cabinet member for community, commerce and regeneration, said: “Traders in other parts of the borough, who have already benefited from this scheme. have told us how this has boosted business for them. It’s a fantastic scheme that will help the local economy.”
