HILLINGDON residents with severe learning disabilities and complex needs have a new centre that offers a range of services, from music therapy to interactive learning.
Queen's Walk Resource Centre in South Ruislip has undergone major refurbishment as part of the council's initiative to enable greater independence among vulnerable residents.
The Mayor, Cllr Catherine Dann, was joined by council leader Ray Puddifoot and Cllr Philip Corthorne, cabinet member for social services at the official opening.
Cllr Corthorne said: "We are proud to open such an outstanding centre, which will make a real difference to the lives of residents with severe physical and learning disabilities.”
After a £3m investment by Hillingdon Council, the centre now boasts the latest technology, including music and art rooms, a teaching kitchen, hydro pool, snoozelum (to enhance relaxation), massage room and gymnasium.
