MORE than 500 people took part in this year’s Hillingdon Peace Walk, to demonstrate the importance of working together for a safe and peaceful community in the borough.
The peace walk is hosted by Hillingdon Council in partnership with Hillingdon Inter Faith Network (HIFN) to help build relationships between different faiths in the borough.
This year's walk was led by the Emerald pipes and drums band, the Mayor, Cllr Catherine Dann, and the Borough Commander, Nick Downing.
The walk began at Uxbridge police station and finished at the Intu Uxbridge shopping centre, where people enjoyed performances from community groups including the Met Police pipe band, dance group Futunity and local schools.
The mayor said: "The annual peace walk is a great opportunity to promote the positive work that is going on in our communities.”
