A NATIONAL award for the transformation of a dementia care ward has gone to Hillingdon Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The accolade of Best Internal Environment was presented at the Building Better Healthcare Awards ceremony at The Brewery in London on Wednesday.
The panel was impressed by the use of colour and art to create an outstanding therapeutic space that enhanced the overall experience for patients, staff and visitors.
The project was also highly commended for its external landscaping and shortlisted for another award.
Beaconsfield East Ward for dementia care at Hillingdon is a 20-bed rehabilitation ward for older adults.
Architects for the project were Oxford-based Gray, Baynes and Shew.
