AN Uxbridge business owner is playing his part in tackling food poverty in this country.
Richard Charalambides, of Ovenu Uxbridge, will collect food items for delivery to a Trussell Trust food bank when travelling around on his oven valeting service.
The Trussell Trust runs more than 400 food banks. Each provides a minimum of three days’ emergency food to people experiencing a crisis.
Matt Cameron, of the trust, said there has been a sharp rise in the number of people using the emergency food service.
Mr Charalambides said: “I am delighted to be doing my bit to help those who have suffered setbacks and been in difficult situations.”
