YOUNG distance runners are invited to follow in the footsteps of Mo Farah by attending Hillingdon trials for the Mini London Marathon, which takes place alongside the main event in April.
Anyone aged 11-17 who would like to put their running skills to the test can attend trials at the athletics stadium, Hillingdon Sports and Leisure Complex, Uxbridge, on Sunday, February 1.
Registration is 9-9.45am but this can also be done online via young.hillingdon.gov.uk/sports The Mini London Marathon is a three-mile race that follows the route of the last section of the London Marathon, from Old Billingsgate to The Mall.
All London boroughs and UK regions can send teams of young people to compete.
Girls' trials start at 10am and boys' trials at 10.30. There are three age groups: under 13, under 15 and under 17.
The trial race route is approx three miles long on mixed terrain. The borough can put forward a maximum of eight runners from each age group.
