INTU Uxbridge shopping centre will be staging a string of activities as it marks the 15th annual National Storytelling Week, from Jan 31-February 8.

The centre is inviting children and adults to escape into a world of fantasy by helping themselves to a book, free of charge.

An adult bookcase will be in the lounge area and a children’s one in the play area, where shoppers can take a book each to enjoy at their leisure.

Marketing manager Craig Higgins said: “Storytelling is an essential part of growing up and, even for an adult, reading a good book is always a real joy.”

Storyteller Rosie Hudson, who supported the intu Uxbridge Get into Reading campaign last year, will read passages from her favourite books in an inter-active session on January 31.
