A NEW programme of led cycle rides is planned for anyone who wants to get on their bike and explore the borough with a friendly group.
From now until the end of March, rides supervised by leaders will be taking place across Hillingdon.
People can visit www.hillingdon.gov.uk/cycling and click on 'Led cycle rides' for a full list of rides, and should turn up on the day around 10 minutes before the advertised start time.
Cllr Keith Burrows, cabinet member for transportation, said: “The council'’s latest programme of rides offers cyclists of all ages a range of scenic routes, starting from the Civic Centre in Uxbridge as well as local schools.
“Led by experienced cycle riders who have mechanical know-how and safety training, they are the perfect starting point for people who have not ridden in a while, as well as being good fun if you are more confident on your bike.”
Highlights include regular Sunday rides and a monthly midweek ride on the second Wednesday, as well as a scenic ride starting from St John's School in Northwood.
In general, they take around two hours and include a rest stop.
