FORGET Van Gogh! How about Van Design?

Melia Gaynor-Palmer, 7, from Glebe Primary School, Ickenham, drew this picture for a Tesco “design a van” competition and won a £300 donation for her school.

Melia’s winning artwork is now up there for everyone to see on the back of a Tesco Click+Collect Groceries van at Hillingdon tube station.

Tesco.com manager Kam Singh unveiled the van and presented the cheque to Melia and her classmates, Amelia McCallam Campbell and Gracie Hart.

Tesco recently launched the Click+Collect Groceries online service at Hillingdon in partnership with Transport for London and invited youngsters in the community to take part in the art competition.

Commuters travelling via Hillingdon station can now pick up their groceries from the station car park, making shopping even more convenient for those returning home after work, as well as local shoppers.

The groceries are picked on the day of collection in the Feltham Dukes Green superstore at Feltham and then kept in a temperature-controlled van in the station car park.

There are reserved parking bays for customers to use while collecting their shopping, which they can do at any time during their chosen time slot. Slots are available seven days a week: 8-10am, 12-2pm and 4-8pm.

Following a successful launch at Rayners Lane, Tesco now has a total of ten collection points at tube stations.
