THERE are two more weeks in which to nominate members of Hillingdon Hospitals staff who have gone the extra mile in patient care.

The Compassionate Care category at the staff awards recognises individuals or teams that excel at 'seeing the person in the patient' and is the only category open to nominations from the public.

Hospital trust chief executive Shane DeGaris said: “Our staff are hard-working and dedicated to providing excellent patient care. The staff awards is just one of the ways we can show how much their work is valued.

“The Compassionate Care award is particularly special as it really shows the lasting effect their work has had on our patients and the public.”

This is the first year the category has been solely made up from public nominations and is a chance to pay tribute to the 2,600 staff working at the Hillingdon and Mount Vernon sites.

If you know of a worthy applicant, show your appreciation by voting for them.

The closing date for entries is 5pm on Friday, February 27, and applications can be submitted in the following ways:

By post to Staff Awards, the Furze, Hillingdon Hospital, Pield Health Road, Hillingdon, UB8 3NN, e-mail StaffAwards@thh.nhs.uk or online: at www.surveymonkey.com/s/THH_Public_Nominations

You can also vote in person at the main reception of Hillingdon and Mount Vernon hospitals, where hard copies of the voting forms are available.
