PERFORMERS who included a classical Welsh singer, a contemporary dance troupe and a pair of hula-hooping twins showcased their skills at Hillingdon's Hidden Talent competition on Sunday.
Held at the Compass Theatre, Glebe Avenue, Ickenham, and hosted by stand-up comedian and BBC Radio DJ Amy Howerska, the competition involved 18 acts aiming to impress the three judges and entertain the audience.
The panel was dancer Lakesha Cammock, music journalist and DJ Hughie Dixon and theatre expert and local arts charity trustee Sylvia Taylor. Category winners were:
Groups: Passion Dance, a group of three contemporary dancers who performed a piece called Witches
Individuals under 18: Ethan Beer, singer-songwriter
Individuals aged 18 or over: Chiara, a RnB singer-songwriter
Most unusual talent: Keeley Garner, Arabian dance.
Overall winner was 16-year-old Ethan Beer, from Hayes. The judges felt he had the most musical potential and stood out for his confidence, song-writing abilities and emotional sincerity.
He will now make a music video. produced and directed by Talking Pictures (UK) Ltd, a company based at the Compass.
Ethan said: "It was the first time I had entered and the quality and standard of performances was so high. I was really shocked when I won.
"I'm excited about making a music video. It's going to be an enormous amount of fun.
“I've recorded live performances and songs for my Youtube channel, but this is going to be something different. I've already got a few ideas and a song in mind."
