STUDENTS from ACS Hillingdon designed and coded a 48-iPad ‘wall’, displayed at the Apple Leadership Summit in London.

The school’s advanced technology club meets once a week to develop innovative technology projects.

Last year, it created a short film about its 100 iPad wall, a huge screen made up of 100 tablets able to receive and display images simultaneously in real time.

The film received more than 3,000 views on YouTube. High school tudents, under the guidance of tutor Marc Smith, designed a 48-iPad version of the wall for the Summit.

Lower and middle school students also helped by creating a collaborative piece of artwork, streamed on the iPad wall.

Over the four days of the Summit, students presented the iPad wall to 400 delegates from Asia, Africa, Europe and the Middle East and also explained how they used iPads in their daily school lives.

Sue Wakefield-Gray, of ACS Hillingdon in Vine Lane, said: “Delegates complimented students on their politeness, their confidence and the ability to describe how they use iPads to support their learning in all subject areas. It was a privilege to be part of the team.”
