BRITAIN’S Got Talent star James Smith joined intu Uxbridge to launch their 2015 Busker of the Year competition at the weekend.
He entertained shoppers at the Uxbridge centre with a range of songs.
The competition coincides with National Learn to Play Day, which encouraged people to learn a new musical instrument.
Pupils from Bishop-Winnington Ingram Primary School in Ruislip came along to show off their talents.
Craig Higgins, marketing manager at intu Uxbridge, said “James Smith was a huge hit with shoppers, and entertained them throughout the day with his incredible voice.
“We hope his performance has inspired people to pick up a microphone and enter our competition to find the next star.”
Aspiring musicians, performers and singers can enter by sending a short clip of themselves to uxbridge.information@intu.co.uk with the subject #BuskerOfTheYear and a short biography about themselves.
A prize package worth more than £500 is up for grabs, including a recording session with local RnR studios.
The winning votes will be cast by the public, with voting taking place on the intu Uxbridge Facebook page.
