A FRAIL Ruislip pensioner had more than £6,000 stolen from his home by a callous burglar.

Police are now able to release CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the burglary of the 92-year-old.

The robbery is believed to have taken place between 9pm on Thursday, April 23, and 1am the following morningl.

The victim had left a small window open at his sheltered housing flat in St Catherine's Farm Court, Howletts Lane, when he went to bed at around 9pm.

At 1am, he woke up and noticed a light on in the living room. It was then he discovered his £6,000 savings had been stolen, as well as £30 from his wallet.

Det Con Tim Costello said: "Although the victim is 92 he lives a fairly independent life and has spent much of the last few years saving money.

"This money was to leave to his children,n in the event of his death, as well as some for his bills and day-to-day living.

"To say he has been devastated by the burglary and the loss of his savings is an understatement.

"We are appealing for anyone who may recognise the man in the CCTV footage.”

The suspect was wearing a dark blue jumper with a white print on the front, black jogging bottoms and black shoes."
