A MAN has been sentenced today for hampering the investigation into the murder of Redwan El-Ghaidouni in Hillingdon.

Father-of-three Redwan El-Ghaidouni, 38, was murdered in Uxbridge on February 3 this year. He was shot eight times through his car window.

Marwais Kakar, 34, of Great Field Drive, Uxbridge, admitted making false statements to detectives.

Today at Isleworth Crown Court he was sentenced to six months imprisonment, suspended for two years, after he pleaded guilty on July 8 to making a false statement to police.

Investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Noel McHugh said: “This conviction and subsequent sentence demonstrates that we remain determined in our efforts to uncover the circumstances surrounding the death of Redwan El-Ghaidouni and anyone seeking to mislead or hinder the investigation will be held to account for their actions.”
