RICKMANSWORTH Golf Club is holding a quiz night to help raise funds for a new CT scanner at a specialist cancer centre in Northwood.
The battle to be quiz champion will take place at the Fairway Inn on Friday October 16 at 7.30pm.
It will support the Paul Strickland Scanner Centre at Mount Vernon Hospital.
The centre marked its 30th anniversary last month by launching an appeal to raise funds for a new CT scanner, which costs upwards of £1 million.
Caroline Wren, a fundraiser at the centre, said: “There will be a variety of challenging but fun rounds and questions to keep everyone happy, and there are great team and individual prizes on offer.
“Proceeds of this event will go towards our 30th Anniversary CT Scanner Appeal.”
The charity receives no government funding and relies on donations, legacies and fundraising initiatives to fund a continuous scanner replacement programme.
It provides scanning services to the NHS and private health sector for the early diagnosis of cancer and other serious diseases.
The entry fee for the quiz, which has teams of six, is £14 per person and includes supper.
It is recommended to book early, by calling 01923 844290 or emailing appeals@stricklandscanner.org.uk
