MORE than 600 people braved the wet weather to go-green' in Ruislip Woods at the weekend.
The environment day held on Sunday had attractions including falconry displays, eco art and a drawing competition, as well as eco-friendly advice for the adults.
Stuart Hunt, countryside and conservation manager at Hillingdon Council said: "Over 100 Hillingdon residents pledged to save 20 per cent of their energy at home to prevent climate change. Thirty children took part in a drawing competition to win fun toys and prizes.
"One lucky person won radiator panels that will save money immediately on her heating bills and cut fuel consumption by 10 -15 per cent by taking part in a climate change quiz."
He added: "The many Hillingdon residents attending were greeted by the green police, fascinated by the falconry and entertained by learning about energy efficiency. We hope that people really enjoyed the opportunity to go green', learnt some interesting facts about Ruislip Woods and got some useful information about climate change."
