BENJAMIN Zephaniah, Shappi Khorsandi and Ken Livingston are among the authors announced for Hillingdon Literary Festival this October.

The free annual festival will take place at Brunel University London’s campus October 7-9.

In partnership with Hillingdon Libraries’ Culture Bite Festival, the event aims to showcase the breadth of the writing community in Hillingdon and beyond.

High-profile names on the bill include Samantha Shannon, a bestselling novelist currently writing the third book in her The Bone Season series, former Mayor of London Ken Livingstone who has recently released his non-fiction memoir on life in the Labour Party, and Thomas Glave, a gay and black rights activist and writer.

The author events will be supplemented by festival stalls including the Poetry Takeaway, ethical and sustainable artisan food and crafts.

Other faces to watch out for include Matt Haig, Suzi Feay and Will self.

Last year the festival saw hundreds of visitors take part in panels, workshops and interactive exhibitions.
