A quantity of drugs were discovered by police after responding to reports of trespassers at Wealdstone Football Club.
Officers were called to St George’s Stadium, on Grosvenor Vale, Ruislip, on Sunday night after being alerted to a gang of eight or nine people gaining entry to the ground.
Bags of cannabis and canisters of nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, were recovered from the scene by police.
However they could not attribute the contraband to any of the suspects and therefore no arrests could be made.
Sergeant Burgess attended the scene with colleagues PC Duerden and Special Constable Kandola.
“We were carrying out patrols in Ruislip over the weekend in response to thefts of mopeds and motorcycles.
“PC Duerden and Special Constable Kandola stopped a group of eight or nine people trespassing in the grounds of Wealdstone Football Club.
“The group was dispersed and the items seized.”
Wealdstone FC’s press officer Nick DuGard said: “It’s good that the police are patrolling in the area and that these people were found.
“We work very closely with the police as part of the community and fully support them in what they are doing.”
