Visitors to a farmers market donated 300 pairs of shoes for charity.
ShoeAid had a stall at Kings Langley’s monthly farmers market on Saturday, August 3. The shoes collected from the village will be taken to the warehouse in Nottingham to then be distributed to deprived families.
Susan Simpole, an ambassador for ShoeAid, said: “I have only been ambassador for seven weeks and so far we have collected more than 1,300 pairs of shoes.
“I want to thank everyone who came to the farmers market and donated to the cause. My own children have been lucky enough to always have a pair of shoes and this is why I decided to get involved.”
The shoes are sorted through, some will be given to those who need them in this country and others will be taken to those overseas in third world countries. Damaged shoes are still used, they are recycled.
Ms Simpole said: “This was my first farmers market but I intend to be at the next one and all the others for the foreseeable future.”
