The first of the new Dial-A-Ride vehicles has been hailed as “impressive” by Elected Mayor Dorothy Thornhill.

Dial-A-Ride is a transport service offering door-to-door service for the elderly and those with disabilities.

The new vehicle has been named “The Happy Traveller” by its users and is the first of the two replacement buses to arrive in Watford.

The Mayor said: “This new vehicle is top of the range. I had a look in it myself and was very impressed. It’s spacious and comfortable, ensuring the mobility of those who can’t get around as easily as they would like to.

“I’m proud that Watford Borough Council are providing much-needed funding for this vital service.”

The two new Happy Traveller vehicles have been funded by Watford Council.

The vehicles used are designed to offer easy access and have tail-lifts and ramps that can be used by those who cannot easily climb steps or user a wheel chair. The service is available between 9am and 5pm from Monday to Friday.
