Three men have been jailed after a 25-year-old man was murdered in Northolt.

Alex Azadbakht, 25, was found guilty of the murder of Rory Anderson, 25, at Woolwich Crown Court on Thursday October 20.

Mr Anderson was stabbed in the back and chest at an address in Hotspur Road in Northolt, on March 12.

He died in hospital a few days later on Wednesday, 16 March.

He had gone to the flat in Hotspur Road and a short time later was attacked.

The court heard that Azadbakht stabbed Mr Anderson repeatedly in the back and chest with a weapon similar to an ice pick.

Azadbakht received 20 years’ imprisonment for murder and four-and-a-half years’ imprisonment for perverting the course of justice.

The sentences will run concurrently.

He was also found guilty of perverting the course of justice.

Jermaine Lewis, 21, and Stephan Bassily, 20, both of Northolt were also found guilty of perverting the course of justice, having intentionally destroyed evidence relating to the victim.

Lewis and Bassily were sentenced to four years’ imprisonment.

The murder weapon, Mr Anderson's mobile phone and clothing have never been found.

Detective Chief Inspector Nicola Wall, of the Met's Homicide and Major Crime Command, said: "Rory Anderson was killed and the three found guilty not only were involved in his death, but sought to conceal evidence immediately after.

"Despite their actions to evade justice they have today been found guilty of the most serious offences."
