The oldest independent girls' school in the county performed a piece of political satire for its annual school play.
Students at St Margaret's School, in Bushey, acted out The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui by Bertolt Brecht, which draws comparisons between the rise of Adolf Hitler in the run up to World War II to that of a 1930s Chicago cauliflower racketeer.
The school’s newly appointed head of drama Stuart Borrill said:"The girls were amazing.
"They have grasped the nettle of working on this extremely challenging and, at times, disturbing piece of theatre."
Head teacher Mrs Rose Hardy said: "Mr Borrill, undaunted by his first term in post, chose such a pertinent and challenging piece of theatre for us to enjoy."
There were two showings of the play on Wednesday 30 November and Thursday 1 December.
