The idea of Brexit seems to appeal to ‘wrinklies’ (and I include myself in that age category).
It is quite amazing that so many elderly people seem to think that ‘independence’ will be such a great idea when they can see what a mess giving independence to so many of our former colonies has been.
Perhaps in the never never land of old age they yearn for ancient Imperial glory and forget the economic mess we were in fifty years ago with the ‘winter of discontent’ - bags of rubbish piled in the streets and strikes everywhere.
I have always hoped for a United States of Europe to give us the economy of scale that the USA has.
It took some time (and a civil war) but we have a lot to admire-even with Trump as President but unity is strength and division (particularly in Europe) is weakness.
Theresa ‘Maybe’ is a fine woman faced with an impossible task of unravelling divorce proceedings from our partner of over forty years-no wonder she hasn’t the slightest idea of how to plan it.
Let us look forward to this week next year when many ‘wrinklies’ will see their chickens come home to roost.
