A man was taken to hospital with a head injury after a fight in Watford.
Police were called to The Happy Hour in Eastbury Road at 7.30pm yesterday.
Around 10 police cars raced to the scene.
An incident occurred between a man and a woman who are known to each other.
A group of men intervened and the man was then assaulted.
The victim, aged in his 60s, suffered a fractured skull and a bleed on his brain. He was taken to hospital where he remains with serious injuries.
The woman, who is aged in her 40s, did not require hospital treatment.
