An incident where a fridge was thrown into the path of an incoming train is being investigated by British Transport Police officers.

The incident happened at around 6.15pm on Monday, April 10, between Harrow and Wealdstone and Headstone Lane railway stations.

The fridge-freezer was dropped from a bridge and smashed to pieces by the London Midland train.

Investigating officer PC Gary Thomas said: “Throwing a fridge-freezer into the path of an oncoming train is beyond stupid.

“Numerous people could have been hurt or killed by this idiotic act. Fortunately, on this occasion nobody was injured and the train was not damaged, but the consequences could have been fatal.

“I would like to speak to anybody who witnessed the incident, who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the Courtenay Avenue area in Harrow on this date, or has any information about what happened.
