Hanwell Town FC is one of two non-league clubs to jointly win the 2017 Buildbase Club Renovation Programme.

The west London club, which plays in the Southern League, has been chosen from among teams competing in The Buildbase FA Trophy to share the £100k product bursary for club improvements following a Dragons Den-style pitching event for six finalists held at Wembley Stadium connected by EE.

Cleethorpes Town FC was the winner from the Buildbase FA Vase competition.

The judging panel from Buildbase and The FA selected Hanwell Town FC because the club’s proposal was well-thought through, costed and would be positive for both club and the local community.

David Iddiols, club president, said: “Winning the bursary is a massive boost for the club and the community.

“It means we can support our youth teams and make the necessary renovations to the facilities such as building new changing rooms and refurbishing the toilets and kitchens.”

Mark Bullingham, FA commercial director, said: “For a football club at any level, good facilities are key to creating a positive environment and a thriving culture.

“Thanks to our partnership with Buildbase, two non-league clubs have a wonderful opportunity to create a lasting legacy for their players and staff.”

The Buildbase Club Renovation Programme will run again in 2018, with a further £100,000 for two clubs. Buildbase announced its two-year title sponsorship of The Buildbase FA Trophy and The Buildbase FA Vase in August last year.

The Buildbase FA Trophy is open to clubs playing in Steps 1-4 of The FA National League System the four tiers immediately below League Two of the English Football League. The current season has 276 clubs contesting for top honors.
