With the General Election just less than two weeks away, talk of how people intend to vote is very much in the air.

The Watford Observer is always keen to know how our readers are feeling ahead of crucial events and so we have been running a survey to find out how people are planning to vote.

We simply asked our readers in each constituency in the area how they currently intend to vote.

The results are below and broken down into each area.

We must point out that this survey is not scientific and may bear no relation to the official election results next month.

WATFORD:

Watford Observer:

All indications from our survey suggest the town will once again turn out for the Conservatives.

It is interesting to note that the arguments and furore over the nomination of a Labour candidate who lives in St Albans have done nothing to dampen enthusiasm for Labour in the constituency.

Conservative candidate Richard Harrington received 830 votes (39 per cent), with Labour's Chris Ostrowski not far behind with 747 votes (35 per cent).

Lib Dem candidate Ian Stotesbury came third with 478 votes (22 per cent), while Green candidate Alex Murray got 52 votes (2 per cent) and UKIPs Ian Green with 38 per cent (2 per cent).

HERTSMERE:

Watford Observer:

If our poll is anything to go by, it doesn't look great for Conservatives. Oliver Dowden - the last MP - only received 256 votes (23 per cent), with Labour's Fiona Smith getting 590 (54 per cent).

Lib Dems Joe Jordan got 175 votes (16 per cent), and UKIP's David Hoy 50 votes (5 per cent) with Green candidate Sophie Summerhayes only picking up 31 votes (3 per cent).

HEMEL HEMPSTEAD:

Watford Observer:

This could be another seat won by Labour. Current Conservative MP Mike Penning received got 205 votes (21 per cent), with Labour's Mandi Tattershall storming ahead with 579 votes (60 per cent).

Lib Dem Sally Symington got 169 votes (17 per cent) and the Greens' Sherief Hassan got a disappointing 16 votes (2 per cent).

SOUTH WEST HERTS:

Watford Observer:

Another Labour steal, with Robert Wakely getting 589 votes (55 per cent). Current Conservative David Gauke received 232 votes (22 per cent), Lib Dems Christopher Townsend for 219 votes (20 per cent).

ST ALBANS:

Watford Observer:

Anne Main looks set for an embarrassing third place, if our poll is anything to go by. Labour's Kerry Pollard came out on top with 583 votes (49 per cent), with The Lib Dems' Daisy Cooper second with 331 votes (33 per cent).

Anne Main managed a distant 250 votes (21 per cent) with Green candidate Jack Easton getting 26 votes (2 per cent).

Over the next week, we will be bringing you interviews with all of the candidates.

We are also holding a hustings next week.

And finally, we will be bringing you live coverage of results on Thursday, June 8 from 9pm.
