Two mums from Watford have been fined after failing to ensure their children regularly attended school.
Stephanie Heaney, 56, of Boundary Way, Abbots Langley, and Leona Martins, 38, of Beech Road, Watford, were fined £375 and £195 respectively after their children of compulsory school age failed to regularly attend school.
Hertfordshire County Council can issue a penalty notice when a pupil has at least 15 half days of unauthorised absence in a term and only after the school has sent a formal warning to the parents.
