Residents were evacuated after a fire at a flat in Watford today.

Herts Fire and Rescue were called to the blaze at Abbey View on June 24, which happened on the balcony of a flat on one of the top floors of a block.

The resident was not home and nobody was injured, but some residents were evacuated while the fire was extinguished.

The fire did not spread to other flats and everyone was returned to their homes.

Staff from Watford Community Housing Trust also visited residents to reassure them of the safety of their flats after the tragedy at Grenfell Tower.
