AN armed policeman was taken to hospital this morning after shooting himself in the foot in Acton.
It happened at 4.20am when firearms officers visited a home in Old Oak Common Lane, to carry out a welfare check on an occupant.
After completing the call and leaving the address, a gun was set off by one of the officers causing an injury to his foot.
He has been taken to a central London hospital for treatment. His condition is not life threatening.
There were no other injuries and no other shots fired.
